Shota Vashakmadze

Landscape Designer

photo

Shota combines a background in architecture with a strong academic interest in the representation and preservation of the American landscape, bringing a truly unique perspective to the Starr Whitehouse team. Exploring the history and promise of digital media, his graduate thesis imagined a ‘National Park without borders’ in the American West, using archival photography, art historical sources and descriptive geometry to redefine the boundaries of protected lands.

In moving towards landscape practice, Shota has used computational tools to map/analyze material conditions and develop design schemes on residential, public, and commercial landscapes, both at-grade and over-structure. His analytic background and versatility as a designer make Shota a valued member of the Starr Whitehouse team.
